Historic gardens and parks
The Ville Venete are surrounded by verdant countryside - in fact, for Palladio this was "the garden of Venice".
Here the Villas gave rise to grand historic gardens with centuries-old trees, rivers and streams, ponds, grottoes and broad green spaces, still perfectly maintained.
Each park has its own style and history: there are Italianate gardens with elegant geometries, romantic English-style parks with luxuriant vegetation, "broil" - antique vegetable gardens and orchards -, and gardens dotted with sculptures and works of art, real open-air museums.
The Villa's historic parks often host events, exhibitions and cultural activities.
On this page you'll find the Ville Venete with visitable historic gardens and parks.
